Welcome to the Shed, Why not join us!
If you've got a bit of time on your hands and you're looking for a place to sharpen your skills—or just a place to have a decent brew and a laugh—you've come to the right spot.
It's About More Than Just Sawdust
Historically, the Men's Shed movement started with a simple idea: men don't always want to talk about their health or their feelings in a doctor's office, but they'll talk "shoulder to shoulder" while fixing a lawnmower or building a birdbox.
At our Shed, we believe that the "kettle and biscuits" are just as important as the lathes and drills. Whether you're a master craftsman or you've never held a hammer in your life, there is a place for you here.
I spent months staring at the same four walls until I walked through those doors. Now, I've got a reason to get out of the house every Tuesday.

And its not just for men
While our name comes from a long tradition of men working "shoulder to shoulder," our doors are open to anyone who wants to get stuck in. Our facilities offer something for everyone, from traditional workshop tools and machines to pottery and textile craft.
What We Do Here
Our Shed is a "health-promoting environment," but we don't make a big fuss about it. We focus on:
Practical Projects
We repair park benches, build school planters, and fix up household items for our neighbors in Somerset.
Learning Together
There's no pressure to be an expert; we call it "Shedagogy"—just mates passing on skills to one another at their own pace.
A Bit of Camaraderie
Many of our members joined to get out of the house after retiring or going through a tough time. 97% of "Shedders" say they feel they finally have a place where they belong.
No Pressure, No Deadlines
This isn't a factory and it isn't a job. We work for fun and for our community. You can come in, get stuck into a project, or just sit in the corner and read the paper while someone else makes the tea.
Ready to pop in?
The first step is usually the hardest, but we make it easy. You don't need to sign your life away—just come along for a Trial Session to see if it's for you.
